JJustice Surya Kant was sworn in as the 53rd Chief Justice of India on 24 November 2025 at Rashtrapati Bhavan’s Ganatantra Mandap. President Droupadi Murmu administered the oath during a formal ceremony at the presidential palace.
With this, Justice Surya Kant officially assumes leadership of the Supreme Court of India and its administrative functioning, marking the beginning of a new term for the country’s judicial leadership.
